A new mini-series from Wong Fu Productions in association with FremantleMedia.
Our goal with this series is to show a general audience who might not be used to seeing Asians as a typical TV family, that seeing our faces in these roles should not be strange. We have a place among everyone else and we can all get along and make great content.
We’re excited to be working with FremantleMedia who sees the potential for Asian Americans in the mainstream media. We hope you can share and support this new project. The more views the higher chance this might actually be turned into a TV show! How awesome would that be?! Thanks!

“Home is Where the Hans Are” - Trailer
Derek has been away from home for 2 years, distancing himself from his mother and life back home. But in the end, his dreams have gotten him nowhere and he reluctantly decides to return home. To his surprise though, his new step-dad and family are not what he expected, and this new life might just be what he needs most.

2012 is off to an incredibly busy start. We’ve got a lot on our plate but one thing we’re really excited to finally share with you all is a short series that we shot last Oct called “Home is Where the Hans Are”. We’ll be releasing a trailer for it soon, and the episodes will be following that shortly. Grateful to be working with AWTV and FremantleMedia and wonderful cast of actors on this project. It’s a family comedy (something a little different from us), but still with that Wong Fu touch. Stay tuned!

In this week’s Wong Fu Weekends, Ted, Wes and Phil brings season 3 of WFW to a close by giving you a sneak peek of their latest mini Web Series.
New Web Series “Home is Where the Hans Are” ft. Ellen Wong and Randall Park
“This week we are going into production for a 3 episode web series called “Home is Where the Hans Are”. It’s a project we’re very proud to be starting because it’s a joint production with a company called Fremantle Media, best known for their reality program, a small show you may have heard of… American Idol! What would the producers of American Idol want with Wong Fu?? Long story short, a division of their North American branch is trying to expand their new media side for television and web, and we were one of the production companies they reached out to. For the better part of this year we’ve been in development with them. It was a fairly long process since we’ve been so busy with other projects, but we’re finally ready to move onto production…”
“…We don’t want to give away too much, but it’s a family comedy about a young man, Derrick, who returns home after years away to discover that the man his mother remarried to is Chinese. Surprise!”
